Uses

Use it to alter and check your pattern
Save time and money by adjusting the pattern before you start to cut the fabric. By pinning the pattern pieces onto the dressform, you can what it looks like and how an alteration will effect adjoining pieces.

Check hang and appearance of fabric
By draping the fabric over the dressform you can see how it hangs and how the pattern works out. This is particularly important for fabrics with bold patterns and textures - and especially with skirts.

For darts and a professional line to bust

Essential for setting collars and revers
Without a dressform it is almost impossible to do necklines well or get the set of collars, sleeves and facings just right.

Essential for setting sleeves and pockets
With a dressform you can be sure of success when setting sleeves and it's easy to see exactly where to place pockets.

Insert zips accurately

Making tacking quick and accurate
For real accuracy you can tack the pieces of fabric together while they're still pinned to the dressform. Then simply lift the whole thing off and machine the pieces together straight away.

Line garments correctly
Ling can be important, but without a dressform, it can be fiddly, frustrating and virtually impossible.

Allows hem to drop before sewing
All garments drop, especially full skirts. Leaving them on a dressform overnight gives far more accurate results than putting them on an ordinary clothes hanger.

Baste and sew hems easily
The hem gauge on all Fabrico dressforms saves time and tempers. It lets you level, trim, pin and baste in one easy operation.
